‘Drive the Dream’ with Daniel Ricciardo.
I was fortunate to assist Candice Shields on the "Drive the Dream 2" tourism project featuring renowned Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo. This opportunity allowed me to gain invaluable experience in multiple facets of production management. My involvement included coordinating logistics for the shoot, ensuring that all necessary resources were in place, and facilitating effective communication between the crew and talent.
I learned to navigate the complexities of scheduling, managing tight timelines, and adapting to the dynamic nature of on-location filming. Additionally, I developed skills in problem-solving, as unexpected challenges often arose, requiring quick and effective solutions. Overall, this role not only deepened my understanding of production processes but also enhanced my ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the project's overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling and Coordination: I was responsible for developing a detailed schedule for the project with Candice Shields, which involved coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure that all elements of the shoot were timed effectively.
Securing Permits: A critical part of my role involved obtaining the necessary permits for filming at various locations. This required thorough research and communication with local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations and to facilitate a smooth shooting process.
Traffic Control Planning: I also played a key role in planning traffic control measures to ensure the safety of the crew and the public during the shoot. This included coordinating with local law enforcement and traffic management teams to minimise disruptions and keep everything running smoothly.
Pre-Production Work: Given the large scale of the project, we undertook extensive pre-production work to prepare for the main shoot. This involved meticulous planning and teamwork, with Candice taking the lead. I contributed by ensuring that every detail was accounted for, allowing us to execute the shoot seamlessly.
Crew Organisation: Organising an extensive crew was another critical aspect of my role. I coordinated the logistics of crew members across various sites, ensuring that everyone was informed of their responsibilities and that production ran efficiently in the lead-up to the main shoot.
Overall, my experience assisting Candice on the "Drive the Dream 2" project was invaluable. It not only enhanced my project management skills but also deepened my understanding of the complexities involved in coordinating a large-scale production. The collaborative environment fostered by Candice allowed us to create a successful and impactful project featuring Daniel Ricciardo.
